Sacrament of Matrimony
The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring. This covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament. (CCC#1601)
The Catholic concept of Christian marriage involves more than holding the wedding ceremony in a church. Christian marriage is a relationship of life-giving love in which a man and a woman make the love of Christ present to each other and become a sign of the love of Christ to those around them. Through their love and faithfulness, they help each other grow in holiness.
Please, contact the parish office at least 6 months prior to the desired date of the marriage and establish a date and time to meet with a priest or deacon.
